Sterling Heroes Adventure Log - May 30, 2010

The Saturday following the events of last session began with Catalyst at her roller derby. Mixed in with the normal contestants were a few meta humans, each having to take several shots in order to compete. Catalyst was quickly able to shake off the effects of the alcohol, and worked to give her girls the advantage. Despite her best efforts, however, the brutal match ended in a draw, proceeded by a sudden death lap. Catalyst was able to beat off the other speedster blocker and scraped a close victory.

Similarly, Zoe, under the moniker Barricade, was attempting to make some money in a semi-legal meta human fighting ring. A long standing champion, Zoe had no trouble punching out her challenger, a large meta named Brick. After recieving a small bit of cash, she went and gathered the local orphans, buying them all ice cream. The happy commotion caught the attention of Catalyst, who quickly came over to get a vanilla cone from her friend.
Maxwell Hammer sat at home, enjoying the last few hours with his son before his ex-wife was to show up and take him. While cooking dinner, Maxwell heard a knock at the door and opened it to find a UPS postman. After being delivered his package he barely noticed the form he was asked to sign was a document that would have transferred all custody over his son to his ex wife. Enraged, Maxwell burnt the document in time to see the postman's features blur into those of his ex-wife's. After sending their son to wait in the hall, she offered Maxwell a job, promising full custody over their son to him should he accept, or be framed should he refuse... Grudgingly, Maxwell accepted and awaited Leopold's driver.

Walter was busy looking over the plans for "Aegis", suggesting various improvements to the developers. Even on a Saturday, Walter loved working on the project so much he had come in; among his suggestions were plans for weaponization and possible teleportation delivery of the suit. It wasn't long before Leopold, having made plans to find the young girl with radiation poisoning and help her, arrived at the "Aegis" testing warehouse, awaiting the arrival of the new tester as was recommended by Ms. Stacey. He showed up with the two previous testers, the friends Catalyst and Barricade. They wasted no time in beginning their sparring session but were interrupted with the news of the Hall of Heroes currently being robbed. Leopold leads them in an attempt to save the day.
-------
Jack and Alex, having seen the commotion after picking up Alex's prescription, were already on the scene. The elusive Glimpse sunk the tires of the van into the ground, and proceeded to sneak inside slowly rescuing what hostages he could. Jack, acting as a distraction, charged the museum just in time to be joined by Leopold's team and Wild Card, who had been in police custody after having been turned in.

The combined forces worked in concert to take on the thugs under Tommy the Turtle, a low ranking mobster. The criminals were being quickly overwhelmed before Tommy himself joined the fray, unexpectedly wearing a powered breastplate that made him nearly invulnerable to common attacks. Despite this, Tommy could not withstand the concentrated assault of so many metas. He fell before the onslaught and the sole remaining thug surrendered.

In the aftermath, Leopold and Walter discover the breastplate had been fused to Tommy's bone structure and could not be removed. The police entered the now-secure building to take Tommy and Justin into custody. News reporters surge towards leopold and his team and amongst their many queries, one in particular stands out. "Are you Stirling's new super team?" To which Leopold denies... for now.
